Stephen A. White is the Managing Partner and founder of Onyx Partners Group (OPG). Prior to founding OPG, Mr. White spent over 25 years working in the financial industry in areas of investment banking, private banking, and most recently, in wealth management. Over those years, Mr. White crafted his skills by working with a variety of client companies and industries.
He has worked with family offices and hundreds of private and family owned business over his extensive financial career. Providing top notch service in areas of business acquisitions and sales, establishing buy-sell agreements for business owners, and offering valuable advice on how to navigate through the process of establishing an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP).
Mr. White is currently serving on the advisory board for NY/NJ Center for Employee Ownership, a member of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts® (NACVA®), a member of the National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO), New York court appointed Business Valuation Expert, New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, and African American Chamber of Commerce of NJ.
As a member of NACVA, Mr. White is highly regarded and appears often on the monthly Around the Valuation World® webcast as an Industry Correspondent, assists as a proctor for the Certified Valuation Analyst® (CVA®) exam, a frequent contributor for CE credit exam questions, and appears in The Value Examiner® magazine, a professional development journal for consulting disciplines.
Mr. White publishes research related to practice management in several industries and is a regular contributor to Onyx Partners Group Valuation Pulse, a monthly newsletter. Additionally, he was recently featured and published as a guest author in The Value Examiner: “Academic Research Briefs: Implications of the TCJA”.
Mr. White spends time giving back to his community through non-profit organizations such as Toni’s Kitchen, YMCA-Montclair, and Montclair Police Athletic League. He is also an avid golfer, basketball coach, and enjoys traveling.
Mr. White has a bachelor of science degree from Northeastern University.
